It was a good night for the Brandon Wheat Kings AAA teams on Tuesday, as the under-18, U17, and U15 squads all collected important wins in their respective playoff series matchups.
U18
Forward Hudson Champagne tallied the game-winning goal eight minutes 20 seconds into double overtime from Crew Elder and Kevin Knee as the Wheat Kings edged the Winnipeg Wild 3-2 in Game 1 of their Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League best-of-five semifinals matchup.

Kale Jones and Benjamin Sveistrup gave Brandon a 2-0 lead, while Jaxon Dean and Max George replied for Winnipeg in the third period.
Wheat Kings goaltender Uriah Moosetail notched his fourth win of the post-season with 48 saves and Chase Kettles turned aside 33 shots for the Wild.
The two meet again tonight for Game 2 at J&G Homes Arena at 7:30 p.m.
U17
Brandon’s Etienne Visser, Brayden Watt, Colin Melnyk, Grayson Rome and Ashton Shields all got on the scoresheet as it downed the Winnipeg Bruins 5-3 to take a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-five Winnipeg U17 AAA Hockey League semifinal tilt.
The Bruins, who trailed 3-1 after 20 and 3-2 after the second period, got their goals from Mason McDougall, Owen Nolet, and Joel Vermette.
In the crease, Carter Krahn stood tall making 21 saves in the Wheat Kings victory, while Zack Houtkooper collected 27 saves in the Bruins loss.
Brandon won Game 1 by a score of 5-4 and fell 7-3 in Game 2, and will now have an opportunity to close out the series at J&G Homes Arena Friday evening at 8 p.m.
U15
Graycen Van Meiji was the hero after collecting his fifth goal of the playoffs 13 seconds into the second overtime as the Wheat Kings defeated the Winnipeg Bruins 3-2 in Game 3 to lead their Winnipeg U15 AAA Hockey League best-of-five semifinals series 2-1.
Defenceman Will Preston and Easton Anderson both hit the back of the net to give Brandon a 2-0 lead after the first period, before Winnipeg responded with a goal in the second and third thanks to Lukas Hamelin and Bentley Peters.
After a stellar 29-save performance in Game 2, the Wheat Kings went back to rookie goaltender Aurick Veldhuisen, who made 21 saves en route to his second-straight win. Nicolas Fontaine, who was pulled in Game 2 after allowing four goals on 22 shots, returned to the crease and turned aside 25 shots for the Bruins.
Brandon returns to action tonight for Game 4 at Southdale Community Centre, where it can clinch a berth into the final and play the Eastman Selects.
Brandon lost 5-4 in Game 1 and won 6-2 in Game 2.
