• 40 YEARS AGO — Howard Hole scored three goals to lead the Boissevain Border Kings to a 10-1 victory over the Cartwright Clippers in the opening game of the Manitoba Amateur Hockey Association Intermediate A championship series.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Bobby Brown, Stefan Cherneski, Kelly Smart and Justin Kurtz all scored for the Brandon Wheat Kings as they downed the Saskatoon Blades 4-1 in the East-Central quaterfinal playoff.
• 20 YEARS AGO — The Gladstone Lakers got a goal and an assist from Jody Anderson, Trevor Derlago, Derek Hooper and Blair Adamson to defeat the Killarney Shamrocks 7-5 in Game 3 of their best-of-seven series in the Tiger Hills Hockey League championship. Brian McCannell, Shaun McIvor and Clint Winters also scored.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Emily Upgang scored in the first period and McKenna Wild stopped all 32 shots she faced as the Central Plains Capitals shut out the host Yellowhead Chiefs 1-0 in Shoal Lake to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five championship series. Emma Greenwood made 15 saves in net for Yellowhead.
