Elkhorn product Chad Leslie has stepped down as general manager of the Swift Current Broncos.
The 48-year-old joined the Broncos as director of scouting for the 2018-19 season and after serving as assistant GM, was named interim general manager of the Swift Current Broncos after general manager and head coach Dean Brockman stepped away for personal reasons on Oct. 14, 2021.
On Jan. 31, 2022, the interim tag was removed and he was named GM.
In a press release, Leslie said his passion lies in scouting so he wanted to return to that role for the Broncos. He follows the lead of a pair of Brandon Wheat Kings GMs who have made similar moves in recent years, Darren Ritchie in 2021 and Doug Gasper in 2022.
