• 40 YEARS AGO — Rollie Bunn had three goals and two assists as the Sioux Valley Dakotas downed the Russell Barley Kings 8- 3 to win the North Central Hockey League title.

• 30 YEARS AGO — Cory Cyrenne, Mike Leclerc, Chris Dingman, Mark Dutiaume, Dorian Anneck and Peter Schaefer all scored as the Brandon Wheat Kings took a 3-0 lead in their WHL East-Central Division quarter-final series over the Sasktoon Blades with a 6-4 victory.

• 20 YEARS AGO — The Brandon bantam AA Wheat Kings earned a point at the provincial final four after managing a 4-4 tie with Rat River in their last round-robin game with goals from Andrew Holmes, Nolan Jago, Wheaton King and Taylor Wells.

• 10 YEARS AGO — Brandon’s 22-year-old product Joel Edmundson scored his first career NHL goal for in his 60th game of the season at 12:15 into the third period to help the St. Louis Blues beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 and clinch a playoff spot.
