One Brandon Wheat King made the final cut but another didn’t as Canada prepares for the under-18 world championship in Slovakia.
Forward Jaxon Jacobson will remain with the club but defenceman Gio Pantelas was one of the last players released.
Canada opens against Slovakia today, then meets Latvia on Thursday, Norway on Saturday and Finland on Monday in the preliminary round. The quarterfinals and relegation games are on Wednesday, April 29, the semifinals are on Friday, May 1 and the medal games are on Saturday, May 2.
