• 60 YEARS AGO — Earl Oxford won the city netball championship for Grade 7. Team members included: Jennifer Spellman, Wendy Lamoureaux, Elizabeth Robertson, Delores Scott, Cynthia Russell, Terry Atamanczuk, Cathy Davies, Kathy McMillan, Yvonne McMillan, Debbie Mitrou and Cindy Purpur.
• 40 YEARS AGO — Mike Corrigan had a clean sheet and Jeff Mortenson scored in Brandon Club United’s 1-0 Brandon Senior Soccer League win over Victoria Inn.
• 30 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings lost in a hard-fought 1-0 battle against the Spokane Chiefs in Game 2 of the best-of-seven WHL final. Brandon goaltender Jody Lehman had a 32-save performance.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Rosanna Common scored three tries to lead the host Minnedosa Chancellors on a 22-7 romp over the Vincent Massey Vikings in a Westman High School Rugby game.
• 10 YEARS AGO — Vincent Massey Vikings pitcher Sydney Cobbe struck out three over two scoreless innings to pick up the win in a 25-0 victory over the visiting Crocus Plainsmen in Brandon High School Fastpitch League action. Kaitlyn Slator, Anjulia Masson and Brooke Schoonbaert all hit home runs.
