• 60 YEARS AGO — Bruce Kent and Jim Collingwood, members of the Brandon Gun Club, came up with top performances at Minot over the weekend as they captured top money and trophies in the Minot shoot.

• 40 YEARS AGO — Two local players, dealt away by the Brandon Wheat Kings, defenceman Jim Agnew (Hartney) and forward John Dzikowski (Portage), have signed contracts with the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers.

• 10 YEARS AGO — The Brandon Wheat Kings were thumped 9-1 by the London Knights in the Memorial Cup, falling to 0-2.
