The Westman Border 50-plus Twilight Fastball League was in action at Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex on Saturday, with three games to open the new season. The Borderline Legends beat the Onanole Sporty’s Originals 14-6, the Southeast Express topped Borderline 9-6 and Onanole blasted Southeast 18-3 as each team earned a victory. They tried to play in Brandon last summer but couldn't due to the smoke. It was the one neutral site weekend for the three-team league, which is in its fifth year and geared towards 50-plus masters players. Southeast hosts the league June 13 in Fleming, Sask., Borderline hosts at Assessippi Family Campground on June 20 and Sporty's hosts in Onanole on July 4.
