The Vincent Massey Vikings boys’ soccer team will play for a bronze medal at provincials today.

The Vikings defeated the host Steinbach Sabres 1-0 in the quarterfinals on Friday morning, then fell 3-2 to the Daniel McIntyre Maroons in the semifinals.

They face Winnipeg’s Vincent Massey Trojans today at 10:30 a.m.

The Massey girls lost 7-0 to the Oak Park Raiders, then fell 2-1 to the Northlands Parkway Nighthawks to finish tied for last place.

At baseball provincials in Portage la Prairie, the Viking boys are through to the semifinals.

Massey finished 2-0 in pool play with a 9-6 win over Selkirk, then defeated Stonewall 6-1 in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The Vikings play the Steinbach Sabres today at noon, after the Boissevain-Wawanesa Broncos face the Nighthawks at 9:30 a.m.

The final is at 3 p.m.

At softball provincials in Crystal City, the Massey girls split their pool games, beating Mikisew 10-0 and losing 8-5 to St-Joachim/Real-Berard.

They beat the Neepawa Tigers 11-1 in the play-in round and will face the Morden Thunder in the quarterfinals today at 9 a.m.

The final is at 3:15 p.m.
