Kale Clague is taking his hockey career to Europe.

The former Brandon Wheat Kings defenceman has signed a two-year contract with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League after eight pro seasons spent mostly in the American Hockey League.

He has also played 94 games in the National Hockey League with the Los Angeles Kings — the team that drafted him int he second round in 2016 — Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres.

The two-time Canadian world junior team member spent last season with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, where he had nine goals and 18 assists in 67 games.

Clague, 28, spent three-and-a-half seasons with Brandon prior to a trade to the Moose Jaw Warriors at the 2018 deadline. He had 167 points in 198 WHL games.
