Hunter Oakden is one shot off the lead heading into the final round of the Golf Manitoba junior boys’ championship.

The Brandonite carded a 1-over 73 at Pine Ridge Golf Club on Wednesday, passing Day 1 leader Adam Blair, who shot 77 to slide to 3 over.

Oakden is 1 over for the week, trailing home course member Brady Comaskey and St. Charles Country Club’s Gavin Carver.

Oakden eagled the par-5 12th hole before back-to-back birdies on 13 and 14 during an up-and-down second round.

Carver went on a ridiculous run of 7 under on a seven-hole stretch before a bogey on the 18th hole to post a back nine of 29 and overall score of 69.

Brandon’s Brayden Hamm shot 76 to move up to a tie for 11th at 12 over.
