Dale Coulter shot a 7-over-par 79 at the Canadian men’s senior golf championship at Niakwa Country Club on Wednesday and missed the cut.
The Brandonite followed up an opening-round 82 by making birdies on his first two holes, but didn’t roll in another as he finished outside the top 100.
First-round leader David White of Winnipeg followed his 69 with a 74 and is now in a three-way tie for first at 1 under.
Three Niakwa members also made the cut. Todd Fanning shot 71 to move up to T11 at 5 over, while David Kuik is T23 after a pair of 76s and Jay Doyle is T35, shooting 78 and 75.
White, Fanning and Doyle won the inter-provincial team event, as White and Fanning’s scores from both days left them 4 over, five ahead of Ontario.
The top 70 players plus ties — in this case, 71 — continue the tournament today and Friday.
