Zach Lamb scored the first goal of the Brandon University men’s soccer season in the team’s second game on Sunday.
The goal helped them secure a point in a 1-1 draw against the visiting Providence University College Pilots in Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference action at the Healthy Living Centre field.
In the women’s game, Hayley Medeiros scored the lone goal in a 1-0 Pilots win.
On Saturday, both Bobcat teams were blanked by the St. Boniface Les Rouges. The men went down 1-0 as Hamidou Diallo struck in the second half.
Gabriela Petit Torres netted a pair to lift Les Rouges to a 2-0 triumph in the women’s game.
At Cougars Field, the Assiniboine College Cougars men lost their opener 5-0 to Les Rouges on Sunday.
The AC women fell 7-0 as Emma Khan scored a hat trick for USB.
Next weekend, AC visits Providence on Saturday while BU heads to Canadian Mennonite University.
On Sunday, AC hosts CMU while BU has the day off.
