The Crocus Plains varsity football team advanced to the 2026 Bramwell Bowl in the consolation playoffs by defeating the Elmwood Giants 10-7.
The Cory brothers played critical roles in the victory. Grade 10 quarterback Jake Cory rushed for Crocus’ only touchdown of the afternoon, while older brother Joey Cory blocked a punt and ran the ball back to the Giants’ 40-yard line to set up the game-winning drive.
With 24 seconds left, Ezra Adeneye kicked a 20-yard field goal to seal the victory for the Plainsmen.
It’s the first win of the year for Crocus Plains, who went 0-7 during the regular season. They move on to play the winner of the game between Sturgeon Heights and Grant Park in the 2026 Bramwell Bowl.
