Sally Leask struck out 18 batters, allowing four hits in seven innings to help the Westman Magic to a 5-1 win over the Smitty’s Terminators in Manitoba Premier Softball League under-15 action in Winnipeg on Sunday.

Westman scored four runs in the fourth to break the game open.

The Magic returned for Game 2 even stronger, coasting to a 12-1 triumph as Presley Hudson fanned four batters, giving up five hits in six innings. Leask and Brooke Maxwell both went 2-for-4 at the plate, combining for five runs and three RBI.

On Saturday, Westman opened with an 8-1 win over the Interlake Phillies.

Naomi McKay went 2-for-3 with three RBI and leadoff hitter Callie Hilhorst scored three runs. Hudson picked up the win in the circle, allowing one run on one hit in five innings with five strikeouts.

Hilhorst went 3-for-3 with three more runs in the second game, an 11-0 victory. Kennedy Charles added three RBI while Maxwell and Ally Neufeld drove in a pair of runs each.

Kenzie McIntyre earned the shutout victory with two strikeouts and just one hit allowed in four innings.
