KANSAS CITY – The Toronto Blue Jays have placed starting pitcher Chris Bassitt on the 15-day injured list, the club announced Saturday.
The right-hander has inflammation in his lower back. The move is retroactive to Friday.
Toronto recalled left-hander Mason Fluharty from triple-A Buffalo in time for Saturday night’s game in Kansas City against the Royals.

Bassitt gave up three earned runs on eight hits in his last start Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The 36-year-old is 11-9 with a 3.96 earned-run average and a 1.33 WHIP to go along with 166 strikeouts across 31 starts in 2025.
The 24-year-old Fluharty is 4-2 with a 4.94 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 48 strikeouts in 51 appearances in the major leagues this season.
