The Brandon Marlins split their first two games at the provincial 18-and-under AAA championship on Friday, beating North Winnipeg 10-5 and losing 6-2 to Winnipeg South.

The event continues today in Winnipeg, with the Marlins facing South Central at 10 a.m., and Carillon at 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, they finish up their round-robin with a game against Bonivital at 11:45. The first- and second-place clubs meet in the final of the six-team event at 5:30 p.m., with the third- and fourth-place clubs starting at 6 p.m.

The second- and third-place finishers go to westerns in Regina, with the winner heading to nationals in Fort McMurray. Both events take place from Aug. 18 to 21.
