Carberry’s Braden Calvert and Team Manitoba earned a pair of victories at the 2017 Canadian mixed curling championships Friday to earn a playoff spot in Yarmouth, N.S.
Manitoba, which includes reigning Scotties champion Kerri Einarson at third, beat Newfoundland and Labrador 5-4 in the morning before stealing one in the eighth end for a 4-2 win over Nova Scotia to finish championship-pool play with a 7-3 record.
Calvert and company will play an undefeated Ontario squad in one of two semifinals today. The gold- and bronze-medal games will take place Sunday.
