The quest for a spot at the 2021 Olympic Curling Trials ended for Carberry’s Braden Calvert on Friday.
Calvert, who curls out of the Assiniboine in Winnipeg alongside third Kyle Kurz, second Ian McMillan and lead Rob Gordon, finished Pool B play at the Canadian Olympic Curling Pre-Trials in a tie for fifth place with a 2-4 record in Liverpool, N.S.
The squad dropped a 10-4 contest to Pat Ferris and a 6-4 battle with Glenn Howard on Friday.
Next up for the Calvert rink is a trip to Chestermere, Alta., for the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling’s Boost National, which runs from Nov. 2 to 7.
Their first game in the triple knockout event will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday against Brad Jacobs.
