Faith Clearsky poured in 32 points and Sharon Tan added 15 as the Crocus Plainsmen beat the Kelvin Clippers 63-49 in varsity girls’ basketball action at the Crocus Plains Forbidden Flavours Java Jam on Friday.
The three-day tournament, which features eight varsity and seven junior varsity teams, and wraps up today.
Antoinette Tshibamba and Hannah Uy each replied with nine points for Kelvin (1-2).
In other varsity action it was:

Neelin 48
Chloe Ellerbrock led all scorers with 28 points and Keilan Henry added eight points for the Flames (3-0). Trinity Blair drained 17 points for Neelin (0-3).
Garden Valley 75
Vincent Massey 51
Laney Harder and Tallia Peters each poured in 22 points for the Zodiacs (2-1), with Brianna Doerksen scoring 14 points and Jonna Doerksen adding seven points for Massey (1-2).
River East 63
Jeanne-Sauve 47
Sky Hamzic netted 23 points and Morag Dekoning added 11 points for River East (3-0), with Anna Pyne draining 14 points and Erica Pierre scoring 10 for Jeanne-Sauve (1-2).

Dekoning tallied 19 points and Metina Batten had 12 points for River East, with Tan hooping 17 points and Alex Courchene adding eight points for Crocus (1-2).
