Killarney’s Russell Outhwaite was named Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association athlete of the week on Wednesday.
The Grade 12 student led the Killarney/Wawanesa Raiders to a first-place finish in the Westman High School Hockey League regular season, putting up eight goals and 25 assists in 30 games.
He guided the Raiders to the Zone 9 basketball championship to secure a spot at AA provincials. Outhwaite leads the team in scoring and rebounding.
He also competes in golf, football, badminton, baseball and track and field while maintaining a 91 per cent academic average.
