The Neelin Spartans were defeated 47-28 by Beausejour’s Edward Schreyer Barons in the consolation championship of the junior varsity AAA girls provincials in Sanford on Sunday.
Grace Neufeld was named player of the game for the Spartans.
Neelin advanced to the final after Altona’s WC Miller Aces defaulted their semifinal matchup on Saturday due to road conditions.
Earlier Saturday, in the consolation quarterfinals, Kruz Wilson had 10 points, Kipling Black added eight points and Morgan Medwid was named player of the game in a 30-25 victory over Thompson’s R.D. Parker Trojans. Neelin fell into the consolation bracket after losing 45-43 to the Linden Christian Wings on Friday.
