Sara Synk’s 12-point performance led the way for the Vincent Massey Vikings (1-1) as they picked up a 52-43 triumph over the Neelin Spartans (0-1) in a Brandon High School Basketball League varsity girls matchup Thursday night.
Tyra Lasuik had 12 points in the loss for the host Spartans, who were kicking off their 2022 campaign.
The varsity boys contest was in progress as of press time.
In the freshman boys game held earlier in the day, Andre Niemann put up 15 points to help Neelin edge Vincent Massey 36-35.
