Former Brandon Wheat King Connor Ungar has earned the Western Hockey League’s goaltender of the month accolades for December.
The 19-year-old from Calgary had a 5-0 record last month for the Red Deer Rebels to go along with a 1.55 goals against average, a .944 save percentage and a shutout.
Ungar, who was dealt to the Rebels last May, has an 11-2-1 record with a 2.06 goals against average, a .925 save percentage and a shutout this season.
Victoria Royals forward Bailey Peach won the league’s player of the month award after posting 29 points in 12 games.
