Nolan Chastko of the Brandon Wheat Kings has received the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League’s top forward award for January.
The 16-year-old had 10 goals and seven assists in seven games last month to help his team pick up six wins.
Chastko — who has signed a letter of intent with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Virden Oil Capitals for next season — had a league-leading 47 goals and 26 assists going into a road game against the Southwest Cougars in Souris Wednesday night.
Carter Sotheran of the Pembina Valley Hawks and Andrew Blahy of the Eastman Selects were named defenceman and goaltender of the month respectively.
