Virden Oil Capitals goaltender Eric Reid and Nipawin Titans forward Mitch Thiessen have been named MJHL stars of the week.

The 19-year-old Reid had a pair of wins for his hometown team over the Winkler Flyers last weekend as he turned aside 22 and 32 shots respectively.

A graduate of the Southwest Cougars U18 program, Reid has a 5-7-1 record with a 3.33 goals against average, an .898 save percentage and a shutout this season.

Thiessen, who calls Brandon home, had two goals and three assists for the Titans in their two wins over the Winnipeg Blues.

The 19-year-old is second in team scoring with 24 points in 25 games.

Steinbach Pistons forward Jack Rogers, who recently committed to the NCAA’s St. Cloud State Huskies, was also named a star of the week
