Winkler Flyers forward Troy Hamilton of Brandon and Neepawa Titans forward Cameron Trimble were selected as Manitoba Junior Hockey League stars of the week Monday.

Hamilton had four goals and two assists over the weekend — including a hat trick on Saturday evening — as he helped the Flyers win a pair of games over the Winnipeg Freeze.

The 20-year-old, who started the season with the Waywayweecappo Wolverines, has eight points in five games so far for the Flyers after being acquired from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s Weyburn Red Wings on Jan. 3.

Trimble, who is 19 years of age and calls Gladstone home, recorded three goals and three assists Friday in the Titans’ 7-6 overtime triumph over the visiting Swan Valley Stampeders.

He is currently seventh in team scoring with 22 points in 30 games.

Steinbach Pistons netminder Will Hambley was also honoured by the league.
