The Dauphin Kings made a trade on Monday as they dealt forward Jeriah Shantz and future considerations to the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Collingwood Blues for the rights to defenceman Anthony Bax.
Shantz, who is 19 years old and calls Fergus, Ont., home, had 16 points in 49 games for the Kings last year in his rookie season of Junior A hockey.
He also had five points in 15 playoff contests during the Kings’ run to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League championship.
Bax, an 18-year-old from Parkhill, Ont., had five points in 26 games for the Blues in 2021-22.
He finished out the year with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers of the National Collegiate Development Conference, where he recorded an assist in 11 appearances.
