Brandon Wheat Kings right-winger Mark Mieritz can help Denmark clinch a spot in the top level of next year’s world junior hockey championship with just one more victory today.
Denmark blasted Lithuania 9-1 on Friday to improve to 4-0 at the Division 1 Group B championship in Bled, Slovenia.
Mieritz, 19, was held off the scoresheet on Friday and has a goal and an assist in the tournament so far.
If Denmark beats Austria today it will earn a promotion to the top tournament next season, although Mieritz will be too old to compete by then.
