The Brandon University Bobcats women’s basketball team earned its first pre-season win, 87-36 over the host Canadian Mennonite University Blazers on Thursday.
Jaynell Gillett led the way with 15 points and eight rebounds. Aimee Johnston chipped in with 14 points and two boards.
The Bobcats will take on the Red River College Rebels today in Winnipeg.
Meanwhile, the BU men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-15) to the host McMaster Marauders at a tournament in Hamilton on Thursday. Sam Tuivai had six kills and two blocks and Roy Ching added five kills and two blocks.
The Bobcats will play McMaster again today and then the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday.
