Midwest was the best Westman team at the UCT Canada Day Classic at Simplot Millennium Park on Friday.

The Bantam AAA squad beat Yorkton 14-1 and Winnipeg South 11-3 to go 2-0 in their group. Morgan Geekie and Darcy Bueler earned the wins. Brandon is 0-1 after a 10-4 loss to St. James. Oil Dome fell 1-0 to Boni Vital.

In the Pewee AAA event, Brandon dropped its opener 12-2 to Boni Vital. It’s second games was in progress at press time.

Midwest fell 15-9 to South Central, while Parkland lost 14-8 to Interlake.

The tournament continues today and will wrap up on Sunday.
