• 30 YEARS AGO — Alec MacGranachan had two goals and two assists as the Assiniboine Community College Cougars beat the Red Rebels 9-5 in a MidWest International College Hockey League game. John Johnson, Doug Munn, Brian Salway, Mac Doupe, Greg Hockley, Fred Tegg and Kevin Bechtold also scored for the Cougars.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Mitch Dion made 27 saves to lead the Brandon Stingers to an 11-0 triumph over the Ste. Rose Royals in a Manitoba Junior B Hockey League game. Jason Glutek, Kirk Keddie, Derek Gilbert and Shawn Cook all scored twice.
