League scoring leader Bradley Schoonbaert has been named the Chicken Chef player of the week in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League.

The 17-year-old forward with the Brandon Wheat Kings (7-3-0) notched five points in two games and now leads the league with 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points in 10 games, two points ahead of teammate Coltyn Bates (6-12-18).

Schoonbaert scored one goal and set up two others in Saturday’s 7-0 Brandon victory over the Central Plains Capitals, then scored both goals in Sunday’s 2-0 Wheat King win over the Parkland Rangers.
