Brett Howden tipped home Tyson Jost’s point shot while on the man advantage in overtime to lift Team Canada White to a fifth-place finish at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge on Friday in Lambton Shores, Ont.

Canada White, which features Brandon Wheat Kings forward Tanner Kaspick, scored three unanswered goals, including second-period markers by Howden and Jonathan Ang, to earn the 3-2 win over Wheat King forward Nolan Patrick and Canada Red. Tyler Hylland and Victor Mete netted power-play markers for the losing side.

Kaspick and Patrick both played in five games in the event, with Kaspick netting one goal and Patrick finishing with five assists.

Meanwhile, Wheat Kings defenceman Kale Clague did not play in Canada Black’s 3-2 overtime victory over Slovakia in the seventh-place game at Lambton Shores. Felix Lauzon scored the OT goal. Clague played four games in the tournament and scored one goal.
