• 30 YEARS AGO — Former Brandon Bobcats star John Carson was named to the opening night roster for the Saskatchewan Storm of the World Basketball League.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Chris Neiszner scored at the 2:41 mark of the second overtime to give the Red Deer Rebels a 3-2 victory over the host Brandon Wheat Kings and force a seventh and deciding contest in the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference final. Eric Fehr and Ryan Craig scored for the Wheat Kings.
