• 50 YEARS AGO — Brandon Auto Electric’s Ken Grainger hit a three-run homer in the first inning in a 7-4 win over the Assiniboine College Clubbers in Brandon Centennial Fastball League action.
• 40 YEARS AGO — The Rivers A’s completed a perfect regular season in the Yellowhead Baseball League with a 17-6 win over the host Neepawa Cubs. Garry Krueger and Brent Montague both hit homers for the A’s, who posted a 14-0 record.
• 30 YEARS AGO — Kevin Bartley’s two-run homer in the first inning was the difference for the Minto Mustangs as they won the Manitoba Provincial Intermediate A Men’s Fastball championship in Steinbach by a score of 2-0 over Winnipeg’s East End Tire.
• 20 YEARS AGO — Craig Berry pitched the full seven innings and went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run as the Reston Rockets blanked the Deloraine Royals 7-0 in a Southwest Baseball League game.
