Westman’s youth bowlers to shine in upcoming zones
This week we focus on the youth bowlers in Westman, as the Youth Challenge Zone Championships are fast approaching.
This year, the zones will be held on Nov. 4 in Carberry. There are several chances to qualify for the Youth Challenge Provincial, which is being held in Winnipeg on Dec. 1.
Youth can qualify on the boys team, girls team, or mixed-gender team. This same scenario is also achieveable for the national level, being played later this season in Gatineau, Quebec at the end of March.
This event is truly a great way for young bowlers in our zone to gain travel and bowling experience, but even more importantly, to gain new friendships at potentially provincial and national levels.
For more information on the Youth Challenge Westman zones, please contact Carberry Lanes or westman5pba@hotmail.com.
Good luck to those competing at the Teaching Division Masters events, being held in Brandon and Neepawa Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to stop by the lanes to check out some exciting Pins Over Average bowling.
