Democrat Brian Poindexter won election Wednesday to the U.S. House of Representatives representing Ohio’s 7th Congressional District, defeating Republican incumbent Max Miller. Poindexter is a union ironworker and an at-large member of the Brook Park City Council. Democrats made the race a priority after Miller declined to resign in the face of domestic abuse allegations from his ex-wife. Miller denied the allegations and is serving his second term in the House. The Associated Press declared Poindexter the winner at 1:23 a.m. EST.
