Manitobans will be able to start booking their second COVID-19 vaccinations appointments as of Friday.

That announcement was made during a Wednesday morning vaccine technical briefing by Johanu Botha, the province's vaccine implementation co-lead.

The province had originally announced that second doses would start to be booked no later than May 22. Friday is one day before that deadline.

Instead of taking an age-based approach to second doses, the province will prioritize people with certain health conditions.

In fact, the company does not have amphibious operations in that city.

HALIFAX - A May 30 Canadian Press story reported that Vice-Admiral Mark Norman estimated there were roughly 70 problem welds on the submarine HMCS Chicoutimi. In fact, the actual number of problem welds is 30, a point the navy clarified the next day.

VICTORIA - The Canadian Press erroneously reported on Wednesday that none of three options to revamp how political contributions are reported in British Columbia could be implemented before next May's provincial election. In fact, Elections BC said one of the three options — requiring monthly or quarterly reporting — could be in place for political parties before next May's provincial election, if legislation is passed during a fall session of the house.

TORONTO - In a May 24 story on a federal court ruling in the case of Mahmoud Jaballah, The Canadian Press erroneously reported that he was a father of three and came to Canada in 1995. In fact, he is a father of six and came to Canada in 1996. The story also erroneously included a reference to Jaballah having worked on a farm in Sudan. Some versions also included an incorrect surname for Jaballah.

OTTAWA - In a story moved Wednesday, May 18, about the Liberal government's apology for the Komagata Maru incident of 1914, The Canadian Press misidentified one of the individuals who travelled to Ottawa to witness the event. His correct name is Amarjeet Singh Sidhu.

In a May 19 story that reported on the planned installation of the first of two turbines designed to harness the power of the Bay of Fundy, The Canadian Press had incorrect wording for a comment from Nils Hirsch, general manager of Black Rock Tidal Power. The correct wording of the quote in question is: "It is considering the current speed, the wave impact, as well as turbulence and wind load."
