OTTAWA – In a Five-Things item that moved Sunday, June 19, The Canadian Press reported that Canada Pension Plan premiums had increased only once in the last 20 years. In fact, the item should have referred to CPP contribution rates, which were subject to a phased-in increase that began in 1997. Maximum CPP premiums, on the other hand, have been steadily increasing over the same time period.
