Cala Korman is in a tie for fourth place in the girls’ competition following the opening round of Golf Canada’s NextGen Prairie Championship at the Quarry Oaks Golf Course.

The Killarney product shot a round of 77 Friday and is three shots back of leader Carlee Meilleur of Lansdowne, Ont.

Binscarth’s Carla Peake is four strokes off the top spot and in a tie for sixth place.

Meanwhile, Brandon’s Scott Miner is tied for sixth place in the boys’ event after an opening round of 75.

He enters today’s action four shots behind leader Alex Swinnerton of Saskatoon.
