LONDON, Ont. – Shane Wright is wasting no time making new friends and racking up points with the Windsor Spitfires.

The captain of Canada’s gold-medal winning team at the recent world junior hockey championship, dealt to the Spitfires from the Kingston Frontenacs after the world tourney, scored twice and added an assist as the Spitfires defeated the London Knights 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday.

Matthew Maggio and Brett Harrison also scored for the West Division-leading Spitfires (27-9-3-1).

Ryan Winterton scored for the Midwest Division-leading Knights (26-12-1-0).

GREYHOUNDS 3 WOLVES 2 (SO)

SUDBURY, Ont. — The visiting Soo Greyhounds outlasted the Sudbury Wolves 3-2 in a shootout.

Brenden Sirizzotti and Caeden Carlisle scored in regulation time for the Greyhounds (14-16-7-4), who outscored the Wolves 2-1 in the three-round shootout.

Nolan Collins and Marc Boudreau scored for the Wolves (15-18-3-3).

OTTAWA, Ont. — Max Donoso made 30 saves and earned the shutout as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the Sarnia Sting 2-0.

Brady Stonehouse and Matthew Mayich scored for the 67’s (31-7-1-1).

Benjamin Gaudreau saved 25 of 27 shots for the Sting (19-15-4-2).

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Kyle McDonald scored three goals as the North Bay Battalion topped the visiting Flint Firebirds 7-3.

Ty Nelson scored twice, while Nikita Tarasevich and Anthony Romani added singles for the Battalion (30-10-0-1).

Coulson Pitre scored twice, while Nolan Dann netted a single for the Firebirds (19-19-2-1).

COLTS 6 STEELHEADS 2

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Brandt Clarke scored twice as the Barrie Colts defeated the Mississauga Steelheads 6-2.

Jacob Frasca scored twice while Carter Lowe and Beau Jelsma also scored for the Colts (23-10-4-2).

Mason Zebeski and James Hardie scored for the Steelheads (18-18-4-0).

RANGERS 4 SPIRIT 3

SAGINAW, Mich. — Reid Valade scored twice and Hunter Brzustewick added two assists as the visiting Kitchener Rangers defeated the Saginaw Spirit 4-3.

Danny Zhilkin and Mitchell Martin also scored for the Rangers (16-18-2-0), who were outshot 37-36.

Hunter Haight, Matyas Sapovaliv and Zayne Parekh scored for the Spirit (24-14-2-0).
