BRANDON UNIVERSITY

• Homecoming week has arrived at Brandon University, an event open to the entire community. A full schedule of events is available at BrandonU.ca/Homecoming/Schedule.

• The festivities start on Thursday, with the Century of Psychiatric Nursing reception from 3 to 4 p.m., in the Tommy McLeod Curve Gallery on the second floor of the library. Light refreshments will be served, and photographs and artifacts will be on display marking 100 years of psychiatric nursing. The Pro Series concert, featuring JUNO award winner David Braid and Serkan Alagök, will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall.

• Friday’s events will include Langar, a free vegetarian meal sponsored by the Sikh community of Brandon, beginning at noon in the Kavanagh Courtyard. Friday night’s events will include a trivia competition with the Stanley Knowles Cup on the line, starting at 6 p.m., in Bailey’s Café in the Knowles-Douglas Building. Another Homecoming concert will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m., in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall as the Brandon Chamber Players perform Stories from Central Asia, featuring David Braid. The Decades Social takes place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., in the Knowles-Douglas building, with a different decade of music each hour.

• Breakfast at Bailey’s will kick off Saturday, from 8 to 10 a.m. The cost is $15 for the buffet breakfast. Games day, featuring video and board games, begins on Saturday at noon in the Knowles-Douglas Building. At 2 p.m., on Saturday, renowned ag thinker and futurist Robert Saik will give a free talk at the Lorne Watson Recital Hall about the future of the world’s food supply. The Homecoming beer garden will open at 3 p.m., in Bailey’s Café, followed by the Homecoming Soirée at 5 p.m., in Harvest Hall.

• Sunday’s events will include the Terry Fox Run, starting at 9 a.m., the Farewell Brunch in Harvest Hall, beginning at 10 a.m., and Bobcats soccer in the afternoon. The Bobcats will host Providence University College, with the women’s game at 1 p.m., followed by the men’s match at 3:15 p.m., at the Healthy Living Centre.
