EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Matt Boldy scored a twice as the Minnesota Wild beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Friday night.

Jonas Brodin and Mats Zuccarello also scored for the Wild, who are 6-1-1 in their last eight games. Filip Gustavsson stopped 41 shots to help Minnesota pull two points behind St. Louis for the second wild card in the Western Conference.

Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman had goals for the Oilers, who have lost two in a row but are 28-7-1 in their last 36 games. Calvin Pickard finished with 16 saves.

SABRES 2, BLUE JACKETS 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Connor Clifton broke a third-period tie with his first goal in nearly a year, and Buffalo beat Columbus.

Zemgus Girgensons also scored for the Sabres, who have won two straight and four of their last six. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 25 stops.

Dmitri Voronkov scored for Columbus and Daniil Tarasov made 36 saves as the Blue Jackets again failed to string two wins together, a feat they haven’t accomplished since November 22-24.

JETS 3, BLACKHAWKS 2, OT

CHICAGO (AP) — Kyle Connor scored 25 seconds into overtime, and Winnipeg beat Chicago.

Nikolaj Ehlers scored twice in regulation, ending a 10-game goal-scoring drought with his 17th and 18th goals, as Winnipeg won for the fifth time in six games to tighten the standings atop the Central Division. The Jets improved to 35-15-5 to move into a tie with second-place Colorado and one point behind first-place Dallas. Connor Hellebuyck made 33 saves.

Tyler Johnson and Colin Blackwell scored for Chicago, which has lost 11 of 12 (1-9-2) and last in the NHL with 34 points. Seth Jones had two assists and Petr Mrazek finished with 28 saves.

In the extra period, Connor got his 21st goal of the season from the right circle when his shot deflected off the skate of Chicago’s Nick Foligno and past Mrazek.
