Toronto FC has taken a 31-man squad to Marbella, Spain, for the first leg of its training camp.

The travelling squad, which left Toronto on Friday but was only announced publicly Sunday morning, features 25 first-team players plus recent draft picks Reid Fisher (San Diego State), Michael Sullivan (Pittsburgh) and Joseph Melto (Dayton) and 2024 selection Patrick McDonald (Indiana) plus Toronto FC 2 goalkeeper Shafique Wilson and midfielder Markus Cimermanci.

TFC, under new coach Robin Fraser, is scheduled to train at Marbella Football Center through Feb. 3 before returning to Toronto. The team will leave for Palm Beach, Fla., on Feb. 10 to continue camp through Feb. 21.

The team will then travel directly to Washington, D.C., for the MLS regular-season opener Feb. 22 against D.C. United at Audi Field,

Toronto is coming off an 11-19-4 season under John Herdman, who stepped down as coach in late November. TFC finished 11th in the Eastern Conference, marking its fourth straight year without playoff football.
