BRANDON UNIVERSITY
• A new academic year has arrived at Brandon University. New students will arrive on campus for Orientation today, beginning at 10:30 a.m., with campus tours, information sessions and entertainment for students. Fall semester classes will begin on Wednesday.
• Brandon University alumnus Mitch Taylor will discuss his career as a serial entrepreneur over 60 years on Sept. 9. He will share why a poor farm boy from southern Manitoba would take incredible risks, balancing the potential rewards against fear of failure. The talk will take place in Room 2006 of Clark Hall, beginning at 12:40 p.m.
• Homecoming will take place from Sept. 11-14, with music, sports, reunions, a student showcase and stargazing at the Gulliver Astronomical Observatory. One of the highlights of Homecoming is the annual concert, which will feature composer Nicole Lizée returning to her Prairie roots at BU on Sept. 12.
