TORONTO – Inter Toronto FC, formerly York United FC, has signed former CPL Player of the Year Ollie Bassett.

The 27-year-old from England spent four years in the Canadian Premier League, one with Pacific FC and then three with Atletico Ottawa, before spending last season with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship.

Bassett has signed with Toronto through 2027, with club options for 2028 and 2029.

The attacking midfielder was named both the CPL Player of the year and Players’ Player of the year in 2022 with Ottawa. In 2023, he tied with Cavalry FC’s for the league’s Golden Boot with 11 goals.

In his first four seasons in the CPL, Bassett scored 24 goals and added 12 assists.
