HALIFAX – The UQTR Patriotes and UNB Reds are heading to the men’s hockey semifinals at the U Sports 2026 University Cup.

UQTR blanked the Moncton Aigles Bleus 4-0 on Friday in quarterfinal play.

William Grimard made 27 saves for the shutout. 

Kassim Gaudet, Charles Beaudoin and Mathis Cloutier scored in the first period and Conor Frenette added an insurance goal in the third.

UNB’s Cole Huckins, Cody Morgan and Jax Dubois had a goal and an assist each in a 5-2 victory over Queen’s at Scotiabank Centre. Stuart Rolofs added three assists.

UQTR and UNB will meet in the semifinals on Saturday. 

The host Saint Mary’s Huskies will face off against the Windsor Lancers in the other semifinal.
