The Canadian Premier League has announced that the matchup between Forge FC and Pacific FC has been postponed due to worsening air quality conditions.
The match was set for 7 p.m. ET on Thursday in Hamilton.
The CPL said air quality conditions — caused by wildfires in northern Ontario — were monitored “throughout the day and deteriorated in the final hours leading up to kickoff.”
No date has been set for the match to be rescheduled, but the league says that information will be communicated as soon as possible.
Forge was set to enter the game atop the CPL standings with 31 points.
Meanwhile, Pacific is still in search of its first win of the season, sitting in last with three points.
