• Final exams for the winter term conclude today, paving the way for hundreds of students to receive their degrees at Spring Convocation, which will take place on May 29 and 30. The campus won’t stay quiet for long, however, with PENT Indigenous Teacher Education students already here for their courses and spring session classes beginning on May 5.
• In recognition of Earth Day this week, teachings and stories from the land will be the topic of Friday’s BU Teachings House. • The School of Music will host the E-Gré 48th National Music Competition in piano taking place from Friday to Sunday in the Lorne Watson Recital Hall. Six finalists are competing for a top prize valued at $11,000, including a cash award and a national recital tour. Ticket info and details available at E-Gre.ca.
• “CURVE!,” Brandon University’s exhibit in the FLASH Photographic Festival, is on display this month at the Curve Gallery in BU’s John E. Robbins Library. This is the first time in its 10-year history that FLASH Photographic Festival is expanding outside Winnipeg to become a provincewide, month-long celebration of Manitoba photography and lens-based art. Brandon University is highlighting 16 works by nine BU students and employees. The exhibit can be viewed at any time during library hours.
